The girls and I made the 901 mile journey last week from Little Rock to Charlottesville, VA, where Wes is attending JAG school. The trip was surprising smooth and took us right at 16.5 hours. We might have made it faster but they were actually blasting rock from the side of the interstate in VA and that delayed us 1 hour. We arrived here at 2pm and Wes last class was cancelled so he surprised the girls and met us in the room.

Caroline coloring and watching a movie

A very intense part of the movie I guess ;)

Today we drove on Skyline Drive through the Shenandoah National Forest. It was breathtaking. We reached altitudes of over 3,000 feet above sea level.

Here we are at 2900 feet

Our destination today was an awesome indoor water park. The Massanutten Resort hosts one of the best water parks I ever been too. It was 42* outside today but it was perfect inside. The girls were overjoyed! Notice in the picture the 5 slides that actually leave the building and come back in.

After a few hours Caroline fell asleep in my lap but after an hour she was excited to go ;)

Wes and Alyssa Kate rode the boogie board ride. They both had a blast and showed off some moves.

This is Wes's response when the lifeguard told him to flip the board over :) Needless to say he did not

AK's turn

She could actually control the board better than some of the older boys that went before her.

Looks like you guys are having fun! Iowa (where DJ's family if from) has an indoor water park too. Not as nice as this one, but still cool!

These are GREAT! We are so glad that you are getting to go see all these wonderful places. We are especially glad that you got to get on a ship and see what all Daddy had experienced in the Navy!
